Artist's Comments

This is a Rosebud frozen with ice after a recent ice storm here in Texas.

It's not a fly, and it's not a flying mole-thing.

I like the focus on the bud, but the exceptionally blurry background - which, I know, is supposed to make the bud 'pop' - is just a bit much for my eye.

However, the bud itself is nicely delineated. And this is what I notice about the angle: the flow of the photo seems to begin at the left middle with the stem, then a gentle curve down, and this sudden bright springing up into the right corner, even as the bud itself 'springs' from the frost of winter into new life. My inarticulate cliches beside the point, this is really very lovely in many regards.

Whoadang. I almost think the focus is too selective. I mean, if that's at all possible. I adore the composition as a whole-- this is my third visit to the pic. And if the dev deserves this much love, I better comment and tell you just that.

As I was saying, the focus really confuses me at first. It really made me want to look closer to figure out just what was going on.

This is definitely getting faved. And I have the a really bad case of camera (and talent) envy right now. XDD
